Save Our Sonoma

Gender identity in Sonoma County

Save Our Sonoma stands as allies, alongside parents, de-transitioners, the LGBTQ community, people of all creeds, political backgrounds, faith leaders, doctors, nurses, the medical and mental health communities – all to protect our precious children. We are not interested in arguing the freedom of adults to choose sex/gender/identity.

Our goal is to facilitate discussions in our community about the recent focus on a child's gender identity, gender affirming care, and sexually-oriented curriculum without a parent's knowledge or informed consent, and to explore the harm done to their childhood and development.
Gender identity influences that we have seen reported in various parts of the country (and even globally) are showing up with our children right here in Sonoma County in our schools, libraries and throughout our community.

Like many Counties and School Districts across our Country, and especially in California, Sonoma County is promoting programs and resources that provide “gender affirming care” to our children. Of course, children naturally explore and shift with their identities as they develop. Children should not be manipulated, however, to make life altering medical treatments that cannot be undone, without parental knowledge and adequate informed consent.

Are you concerned about the indoctrination that is occurring with our youth about their “right” to choose their sex, and to be exposed to psychological manipulation about their sexuality, leading to alterations physically and emotionally that cannot be undone? We must not let this happen to our youth under the age of 18.

Here are some questions to consider:
  • “What are GENDER (SEX TALK?) CLUBS doing in SCHOOLS?”
  • How many schools in Sonoma County have GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) clubs?
  • What is the curriculum?
  • How is it funded?
  • Who has been cleared to work with children?
  • Why aren’t parents being informed of events that kids are invited to attend?
  • Who’s qualified to communicate with students in this way and what qualifications do they have?

* Drag Queen Story Hour *
In June of 2023 there was a series of “Drag Queen Story Hours” promoted by our local media and our County educational system. Click here for a recent Press Democrat article on the concern with “protestors” (parents) attending these story hours.

We must speak up, our children need us to be their voice. Let’s help protect their innocence and prevent the outrageous indoctrination that is occurring within our County education system and elsewhere.
